Toxic wave around Rocking Star Yash is still creating huge demand, with the movie’s team and trade observers reporting that almost 1 million tickets were sold in the last 24 hours and the huge anticipation surrounding Yash’s return to the big screen is on display.

The advance booking momentum has been the biggest talking point in Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. The movie had already attracted an audience before its theatrical release in so many countries. The movie was already at the one million ticket mark in advance sales and tracking reports showed that pre-release bookings were continuing to rise.
The recent surge in ticket sales only underscores the size of the Yash phenomenon. After KGF: Chapter 2’s huge success, the audience has been waiting for Yash’s next big theatrical release to happen. Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, is the actor’s return to cinema after nearly four years and is the most anticipated Indian film of 2026.
Advance booking was already booming when Toxic opened its ticket window. Within hours thousands of tickets were sold, with Karnataka among the strongest markets. The initial tracking numbers showed more than 84,000 tickets sold in the first booking period, and subsequent reports showed the number climbing well into the hundreds of thousands.
The recent surge shows that the film is not limited to one region. Toxic is being released in a variety of languages and markets, so Yash can reach out to the Kannada-speaking audience and increase his audience.
The film's scale has also been enhanced by its ensemble of actors. In addition to Yash, Toxic also has Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. The combination of Yash’s huge fan base, Geetu Mohandas’ direction and the film’s gangster-like narrative has generated a lot of curiosity.
The advance booking numbers are especially significant because they show audience demand before word-of-mouth from regular theatrical audiences can really affect collections. While advance sales are not a predictive factor of a film’s eventual box office figures, they will give a crucial indicator of the early-day momentum.
Reports before release had already indicated that Toxic was building a large pre-sale total. One report said the film had already reached ₹41 crore in advance sales in India and over 9 lakh tickets had been sold.
A huge momentum continues into the release period. Toxic saw its first major theatrical release since KGF: Chapter 2 on August 26, 2026. There have been huge celebrations in Bengaluru, where audiences packed into theatres in large numbers and the mood was very much like a party.
The film’s ticket-selling performance is now being closely watched by the industry, particularly because Yash’s previous film became a landmark success and established him as one of India’s most commercially powerful pan-Indian stars.
With nearly one million tickets sold in the last 24 hours, the Toxic advance-booking wave has once again shown the strength of Yash's fan base. The real test, though, will be whether this huge pre-release enthusiasm translates into sustained occupancy, strong word-of-mouth and a long theatrical run.
As of now, the message is clear from ticket counters: the Yash wave is not slowing down and Toxic has arrived with blockbuster-level audience anticipation.
