Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan will reunite with their upcoming comedy entertainer Udta Teer. The film will be released on October 9, 2026, with Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment. The makers have shifted the date from September 11 to October 9, giving the film a new slot during the festive season.
Udta Teer is a comedy-driven, family-friendly entertainment that combines comedy, chaos, and espionage. Ayushmann and Sara are back to work together again after Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, and their pairing is one of the main attractions, especially with Ayushmann returning to the comedy-driven world he has been in for so many years.
The project is also Akash A Kaushik’s first feature directorial work, and he has written and directed the film. Kaushik is known for his work on hit Hindi comedy films, and Udta Teer is a chance to take his storytelling into the director’s chair. No details on the plot have been disclosed yet, but the film will be a spy drama, funny, and family-oriented movie.
The movie is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Achin Jain. There is an additional collaboration between Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment. Previously, they have worked together on Kill, Gyaarah Gyaarah, and The Lunchbox.
With the release date of October 9, Udta Teer is coming just one week after Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3, which is scheduled to release on October 2. At present, no other major theatrical release has been announced for October 9, so the Ayushmann-Sara film has a fairly clear opening window. However, Drishyam 3’s performance will impact the box office if it continues to hold up in the second week.
Ayushmann Khurrana's Udta Teer is a return to comedy-based theatrical entertainment, which isn't as serious and dark as that of the past. Comedy has always been part of his filmography.
