Pop star Britney Spears has made her global fans cry when she gave an exposé of her latest creative discoveries and personal life on Instagram. The Grammy-winning artist told an adventurous but shockingly telling story of a new hobby that she had just started: glass melting. “A very quick mistake, but it was a great thing to do and to do.” She told us that she and her teacher were both prepared for it all, and she had a connection to the damaged safety gear she kept for two months and when it was thrown away she was just like “Oops!” And even though she is no stranger to making things, Spears had a bit of self-deprecating wit when she reflected on her creative process and said that creativity often goes hand in hand with a bit of eccentricity—something that resonated with fans who love her unscripted authenticity.

Not only is Spears working on the art of glass blowing, her shoes are still a bit sore this month and she has had a foot injury at the moment that has temporarily sidelined her dancing routine. She didn’t let the trauma weigh her down, though, but turned it into an opportunity for mindfulness and self-care and she told her followers what’s the best way to get better and be a better person and to get into the health-consciousness and physical health of people (physical foundation and emotional health).
And she emphasized how taking care of one’s feet is like getting the soul of one’s own head. This new focus on wellness and well-being has now opened her eyes to a new shop for the pop star, and she is thinking about starting a new artisanal business with homemade soap and candles. These tangible, grounding crafts are not so much an eye-opener for her music career with the intense, high-pressure spotlight, but they’re a soothing, hands-on craft that gives her a lot of peace of mind.
Spears did also share some rare reflections on her relationship with digital platforms, hinting at a possible transition from the virtual world. She said she’s a “real nerd” and believes that the happiest things in life are the barest of things, the smallest, quietest things. She is in fact considering turning off Instagram and will probably do so. This could be a departure from public consumption but she’d like something more personal as well as a more personal experience and one that is more genuine and true in nature. Britney Spears, the only singer who stands out for the first time in a pop career she seems to be in now, is so vulnerable and still passionate and self-aware.
