The horror thriller Evil Dead Burn is slowly losing momentum at the Indian box office as the weekday trend comes. This week, after an excellent first weekend, the latest Evil Dead movie had a big drop on Day 5 (Tuesday) and the usual decline is expected after the weekend rush.

According to Sacnilk's live estimates, the film earned ₹0.55 crore (India net) on July 14, taking its total India net collection to ₹15.30 crore, while the India gross collection is ₹18.12 crore.
Day 5 Box Office Performance
The film had collected ₹2.10 crore on Monday from 3,824 tracked shows. But on Tuesday, collections and the number of screenings declined considerably.
India Box Office Collection
- Day 1: ₹4.35 crore
- Day 2: ₹4.10 crore
- Day 3: ₹4.20 crore
- Day 4: ₹2.10 crore
- Day 5: ₹0.55 crore (Live Estimates)
- Total India Net Collection: ₹15.30 crore
- India Gross Collection: ₹18.12 crore
The sharp drop in the number of shows on a weekday is primarily due to fewer footfalls and a drop in shows at cinemas.
Occupancy Report
The movie recorded an overall morning occupancy of approximately 20.5% in all languages on Tuesday.
Language-wise occupancy:
- Hindi: 22%
- English: 20%
- Tamil: 16%
Among major cities:
English version performed best in NCR, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. Hindi version had a better occupancy in Jaipur, Mumbai, Pune, and NCR. Tamil version continued to perform well in Chennai. Reduced Screen Count Impacts Collections.
One of the biggest challenges for reducing collections has been the large decrease in screen count.
Evil Dead Burn was seen in nearly 4,000 shows on its opening weekend in India. On Monday, it was also playing in over 3,800 shows, but by Tuesday it was down to about 1,625 tracked shows.
Fewer screenings thus limited the movie’s potential to earn money even though there was a reasonable occupancy in several cities.
Language-wise Collections
The English and Hindi versions continue to account for the majority of the film’s business.
Estimated Day 5 earnings by language:
- English: ₹0.26 crore
- Hindi: ₹0.25 crore
- Tamil: ₹0.04 crore
The Telugu version has contributed a relatively smaller share of the overall collections.
About the Film
Directed by Sébastien Vanicek, Evil Dead Burn is the sixth film in the worldwide popular Evil Dead franchise and the third standalone addition, following Evil Dead (2013) and Evil Dead Rise (2023).
The film features performances by:
- Hunter Doohan
- Souheila Yacoub
- Luciane Buchanan
The film was released in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on July 10, 2026, and will reach people in different parts of India.
Outlook
While the film has experienced the expected weekday slowdown, crossing the ₹15 crore India net mark within 5 days is a good performance for a Hollywood horror title. The next weekend will be crucial for whether or not the film will continue to flourish with audience support and expand into the box office.
