Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is still an exceptional box office hit in Karnataka with ₹50-crore in five days. In five days of release in Karnataka, the film is selling at ₹57.80 crore and ticket sales are 14.40 lakh.

The numbers reflect the wonderful opening that Toxic has had in Karnataka, Yash’s home market and one of the most important territories for Kannada cinema. The film opened with a particularly strong Day 1 performance, recording approximately ₹27.86 crore from 6,04,586 tickets, according to the figures being circulated.
The momentum then moderated on the second day of the movie and the film took in ₹9.82 crore from 2,68,102 tickets. On Day 3 the collection is around ₹5.82 crore and 1,56,809 tickets were sold. The fourth day has a little better showing with ₹7.08 crore from 2,02,640 tickets.
Toxic collected another ₹7.22 crore on Day 5 and ticket sales were about 2,08,006. The five-day total of Karnataka is now ₹57.80 crore and total ticket sales are 14,40,143.
The Day 1 number is still the biggest contributor to the five-day total, which is almost half of the reported Karnataka earnings. The next two days have been slower but the film continues to add many crores a day.
Toxic is a great performance because it is Yash’s return to the big screen after his earlier blockbuster success. Karnataka has a huge fan base that is behind him, so he is very popular in this state and has it to thank for the buzz on the movie.
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is a gangster action drama with Yash and a big ensemble cast (Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth) and Geetu Mohandas. It was released in various languages and was able to target a wide audience beyond the Kannada-speaking market as well.
Karnataka is just one part of the film’s box office journey. Toxic has also had a good start on a national level. Trade-tracking reports by Times of India showed the film’s India net collection at around ₹214.10 crore after five days and its worldwide gross at around ₹285.20 crore.
The strong national numbers show that the movie is now popular beyond Kannada. The Hindi version has become one of the largest contributors to the film’s domestic profits, indicating Yash’s growing popularity in India.
However, the Karnataka numbers are more important for Kannada cinema. Toxic crossing ₹50 crore in the state in five days is a major early milestone that is very important and further indicates Yash’s theatrical market presence in Karnataka.
At the same time, the day-to-day trend will be closely watched. After an extremely strong opening day, the film went down considerably on Day 2 and Day 3 and then got better the following two days. The box office will be determined by collections during the weekdays.
The reported 14.40 lakh tickets sold in Karnataka in five days also demonstrate the scale of theatrical interest. Ticket sales, occupancy and screen retention will be crucial components as the movie goes into its second week.
Since the film is already crossing ₹50-crore in Karnataka, the next targets will be determined by how strong it holds during the next days. If the current run continues, the Karnataka total could continue to climb significantly.
For now, the reported ₹57.80-crore five-day Karnataka collection gives Toxic a strong start in its home territory and adds another important chapter to Yash’s box office story. The film’s performance from India to overseas markets will determine its larger success, but its opening in Karnataka has already attracted quite a bit of attention from Kannada film fans and trade.
