Joji is another outstanding performance, a psychological crime drama based on William Shakespeare's Macbeth, and it is a psychological crime drama, I am so happy to be performing. Directed by Dileesh Pothan, the film documents the story of Joji, the youngest son in a wealthy plantation family and how he wishes to escape his domineering father's control.
Joji is driven by greed, ambition, and resentment when the opportunity comes along and goes on to do so. Fahadh gives a wonderful psychological arc to the character of Joji that is both intriguing and daunting. The film’s atmospheric cinematography, the weighty screenplay, and morally complex story are all so much more than just a good adaptation of Shakespeare in Indian cinema.
3. Malik
Malik portrays Fahadh Faasil in one of the most ambitious roles of his career. Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, the political crime drama tells the tale of a respected community leader, Ahammad Ali Sulaiman, whose life spans decades.
As he grapples with politics, religion, land disputes, and social justice, the film covers sacrifice, leadership, and redemption. Fahadh changed so much physically for the role, but he was a perfect representation of the character over time that he was able to play in very different moments. Malik is among the actor's most celebrated movies for its grand storytelling, powerful performances, and emotional impact.
4. Kumbalangi Nights
Kumbalangi Nights is a family drama, and Fahadh Faasil delivers one of the most memorable antagonist performances in Indian cinema in the past 10 years. Madhu C. Narayanan’s film is about four estranged brothers in a dilapidated house in Kerala’s remote coastal village of Kumbalangi. The central story is one of healing, family, and acceptance, but Fahadh’s portrayal of Shammi as a perfect husband who seems to hide deep insecurities, the perfect husband that really shows up for the camera and makes it all real is so interesting. 5. C U Soon
C U Soon is a unique film for those who might like a little experimental. The thriller is presented through smartphone screens, video calls, chat messages, and computer interfaces as its heart. Jimmy is a young man living in the UAE who is in an online relationship, and his girlfriend suddenly disappears. When new digital clues come to light, Jimmy’s cousin Kevin (Fahadh Faasil) is able to use his cyber skills to discover what is really going on, and he can’t believe it. It is an audacious and different style of film, and the themes include technology, online relationships, and human trafficking. Fahadh’s understated performance supports the innovative narrative and makes it one of the most original OTT films of Malayalam cinema.
6. Maamannan
Maamannan was Fahadh Faasil’s excellent collaboration with director Mari Selvaraj and once again showcased his versatility. Even though the movie is about a long-time politician and his son fighting for dignity and equality, Fahadh plays the influential, entitled Rathnavelu with such great conviction that it really brings depth to the film's exploration of caste, politics, and power dynamics. From a one-dimensional villain to a complex character, Fahadh brings depth and subtlety to the role and gives the film a great feel as a whole to the emotional punch. The film received very good reviews for the performances, story, and social commentary.
7. Aavesham
Aavesham one of the biggest Malayalam blockbusters of recent times. Jithu Madhavan’s action-comedy brings together Ranga, an eccentric gangster living in Bengaluru who unexpectedly befriends three engineering students seeking revenge against their college seniors. What follows is a fun ride on a rollercoaster of humor, action, emotions, and heartbreak. Fahadh is amazing in every scene with his magnetic performance as Ranga that combines comedy, menace, vulnerability, and charisma with effortless ease. His energy and willingness to be seen were what motivated the film and helped Aavesham to become both a commercial and critical success.
Fahadh Faasil is so willing to reinvent himself all the time.
