Darshan Thoogudeepaโs action thriller Devil is finally making its way to digital platforms. The film, which went into theatres in December last year, will be made available on ZEE5 from July 17, almost seven months after it was released in cinemas.

The movieโs fans had been eagerly awaiting an OTT announcement ever since the movie completed its theatrical run. However, the digital release was a long way off from the release, and nobody knew if they would ever get to watch the film online. The wait is over.
Streaming on ZEE5
ZEE5โs social media channels also announced the release with action-packed clips from the film.
The platform wrote:
"In the game of power, he makes the rules. There is just one throne, and only one king to claim it... The Devil. Streaming on ZEE5 Kannada from July 17."
According to the reports, the film will be released only in Kannada initially. There has been no official announcement of dubbed versions in other languages.
Satellite rights also with ZEE
Apart from digital rights, ZEE has also acquired the satellite rights of the film. After its OTT premiere, the movie is expected to have its television world premiere on the Zee Kannada network channel.
A film with challenges
Devil had a long road to travel before it was released. The film was announced in 2023, but production was cancelled when Darshan was arrested in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case.
After being released on bail, Darshan completed the remaining parts of the film, including dubbing. But after the work was done, the Supreme Court canceled his bail, and the film was finally released while legal action was dominating the headlines.
In spite of much buzz, the film did not make the box office hit that we expected it to.
A second chance through OTT
Devil is now accessible to a much wider audience with its arrival on ZEE5. Many Darshan fans who missed the movie in theatres will find it online when it is released on July 17.
