Ajith Kumar’s Dare Devil: Mohanlal, Venkatesh Reportedly in Talks

Ajith Kumar’s next film Dare Devil is already creating big buzz and the latest casting reports could make it so big. Mohanlal and Telugu veteran Venkatesh Daggubati are said to be in talks to play important roles in the film, which is being directed by Adhik Ravichandran.

The reports have inspired movie fans in South Indian industries but Mohanlal and Venkatesh’s casting has not yet been officially confirmed by the makers.

Ajith Kumar and Adhik Ravichandran Reunite

Dare Devil marks Ajith Kumar’s second collaboration with Adhik Ravichandran after their 2025 film Good Bad Ugly. The movie was officially announced earlier this month and is Ajith’s 64th film.

The project is particularly significant because it marks Ajith’s wife, former actress Shalini Ajith Kumar, making her production debut under Brave Hearts Production. The film will also have music by Anirudh Ravichander.

Dare Devil has already attracted attention with the first-look material using a striking red-and-black visual theme and dice imagery that has inspired speculation about the film’s themes of risk, chance and unpredictability.

Mohanlal and Venkatesh Could Bring a Pan-Indian Appeal

If the casting reports eventually become official, Dare Devil would bring together three major stars from Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu cinema.

Mohanlal’s presence will enhance the film’s penetration in Kerala and Venkatesh could help the project reach Telugu-speaking audiences. Their inclusion alongside Ajith could mean a larger South Indian theatrical presence for the film.

However, the biggest question will be the nature of the actors’ characters. And fans would prefer that both actors have big roles rather than a few minutes or a cameo role.

Adhik Ravichandran Promises a Different Film

Adhik Ravichandran has said that he doesn’t want Dare Devil to follow the Good Bad Ugly formula. As of now, the director wishes to make an out-and-out commercial entertainer that will appeal to a wider audience, families and younger viewers, he said.

With Ajith again making his screen return, Shalini making her production debut and speculation around Mohanlal and Venkatesh, Dare Devil is seen as one of the more closely watched upcoming South Indian films.

At this point, fans will have to wait for a full-fledged announcement from the makers regarding Mohanlal and Venkatesh's casting report before they consider it as confirmed.
