Mamitha Baiju is in a very exciting phase of acting and has been working in Tamil films with Vijay and Suriya, the biggest of them, and she has been working with Vijay in Jana Nayagan and Suriya in Vishwanath And Sons. Mamitha feels so lucky to have been involved in such high-profile projects, and she feels proud of this.
For Mamitha, it was an incredibly special opportunity to work with Jana Nayagan because she knew from the beginning that it was a Vijay-starrer. She said even getting a small part in a film with the superstar would have been a big opportunity for her.
When asked about the project in an interview, Mamitha said she initially thought her role was a relatively small one. But when she heard the whole story, she came to realise that the character she was presented to was far more important than she had been led to believe.
“When I first heard the story of Jana Nayagan, I knew it was a Vijay film. Even getting a small role in it would have been lucky,” Mamitha said. Learning about the story helped her realise that the role was not as small as she had initially thought and that she had a lot of opportunity ahead of her.
Mamitha also discussed her experience working with Vijay very warmly. The superstar's attention to detail and desire to help those around him made it that much more special for Mamitha.
She recalled that Vijay notices even the smallest details and said his encouragement extended beyond his work on camera. Mamitha mentioned him helping her learn new things during the production and said that his support was significant on and off camera.
Her encounter with Suriya was also meaningful but for different reasons. Mamitha said she had been a fan of Suriya since her school days and had wanted to meet him once during one of his promotional visits to Kochi.
The actor recalled a moment from her high school days when Suriya visited Lulu Mall in Kochi for a film promotion. Mamitha wanted to meet the actor but could not travel from Kottayam to Kochi that day. Her brother did meet Suriya and even took photographs with him.
Mamitha soon shared the screen with the actor she admired since her school days. She described that as a proud moment in her journey as an actor.
Mamitha also commented that she later went to a promotional event at Lulu Mall and the previous memory had a very surprising sense of completion. For her, those personal milestones are a reminder of how unpredictable and rewarding acting can be.
Mamitha thus has not only received high movie credits in the two Tamil projects. She has been able to work with established actors and take in a different film industry. Her comments indicate that she is as much interested in learning from working with those two as she is in the visibility of the big movies.
Mamitha Baiju is now ready to return to Malayalam cinema after her Tamil work. She is scheduled to lead Girish AD's upcoming romantic comedy Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, in which she plays opposite Nivin Pauly.
One more new film to Mamitha's growing filmography. Having already worked with big names of Tamil cinema, her return to Malayalam will draw in the audience those following her career from the start.
With projects in both industries, Mamitha Baiju is on her way up now. She has achieved some of her professional milestones with Vijay and Suriya. And her upcoming Malayalam project may also give her another opportunity to show her variety and ability to do what she does.
