A recent film director, Vignesh Shivan, made a hilarious self-deprecating speech about his film Love Insurance Kompany at Yash's promotional event for Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups in Chennai. Vignesh recalled meeting Kiara Advani years ago, before Kabir Singh was released, to tell a story that eventually became Love Insurance Kompany.
In a video of the event that has been circulating online, Vignesh addressed Kiara and told her that she was lucky not to have accepted the project. His humorous comment refers to the film’s underwhelming theatrical display.
Vignesh recalled that he had met Kiara before Kabir Singh to discuss a story. He then revealed that he eventually made that film, which became Love Insurance Kompany. With characteristic self-deprecating humour, he told Kiara that she was “lucky” she did not take up the project.
Kiara appeared to take the comment in the spirit in which it was delivered, joining in the light-hearted moment. Rather than presenting the story as a serious criticism of the actor or the film, Vignesh used the incident to poke fun at his own box office outcome.
Love Insurance Kompany, starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty, had a low theatrical run. Many box office estimates placed its worldwide gross in the range of around ₹58 crore to ₹66.47 crore, and the film was widely seen as a commercial failure.
The filmmaker’s comments therefore reflected his ability to laugh at one of the less successful chapters of his career while interacting with one of the actors he had approached during the early stages of the project.
Vignesh Shivan Praises Yash
The filmmaker had positive things to say about Yash, who headlines and produces Toxic. Vignesh praised Yash for being a Kannada star and described him as an icon and role model.
Vignesh said at the event, some people become role models in life and inspire others to dream bigger and pursue new possibilities. Yash is one of them.

Vignesh also recalled how excited he was just to have an opportunity to spend some time around Yash. His only thought, he said, was that spending even a single day with the actor would be a memorable experience.
But the collaboration eventually gave Vignesh more opportunities to be around Yash. He mentioned being involved in one song and then another, and so he got to spend a lot more time with the actor.
Vignesh thanked Yash for being kind and supportive throughout the experience. It is the admiration he has developed for the actor during their time together, he said.

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is directed by Geetu Mohandas and is Yash’s first major movie since KGF, after nearly 4 years of work as a film star. Yash is being hailed as a huge star as well in India from the start.
The movie is set in Goa between the 1950s and 1970s, when Portuguese rule was weakening. Yash plays Raya as a man who rises through the city’s criminal underworld and drug trade through ambition, betrayal and violent action.

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups will be released on August 26. A year later, with the movie release date, Vignesh Shivan provides more entertainment for the film promotion.
