According to industry reports, Jana Nayagan has obtained rights to use snippets of iconic Vijay songs including the chartbuster Vaathi Coming and a song from Youth from 2002. While the montage lasts only about one minute, the music rights reportedly cost the production ₹1.5 crore.
The producers did not hesitate to approve the payment, seeing the sequence as one of the film’s all-time emotional highlights, sources say. The montage is supposedly a nostalgic tribute to Vijay’s most celebrated musical moments in a single cinematic sequence.
The inclusion of songs from Vijay's earlier films will do a lot for the actor's loyal fans; many of whom have followed him for decades. The brief montage will be a celebration of his legacy and it’ll probably be one of the most talked about moments in Jana Nayagan.
