Rajinikanth Returns as a Doctor in Dharman as Second Schedule Begins

Rajinikanth has returned to the sets of his upcoming Tamil action thriller Dharman and its second shooting schedule has started in Chennai now in the second shoot schedule too. Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan is producing the film with Raaj Kamal Films International, the film is a big deal as he is producing it.

Directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, Dharman marks Rajinikanth’s 173rd movie and a character that is quite different from a number of his recent mass action movies. The superstar plays a doctor and battles criminals in the film, a mixture of medical drama, action and commercial thriller elements. Simran, Raashii Khanna and Yogi Babu are also in the film.

The second schedule will also have several important scenes with Rajinikanth. His character’s reported “mass doctor” look is already generating an excitement for fans and pictures and clips from the shoot are spreading on social media. The movie makers are keeping much of the storyline under wraps and it is a little more mystery how the doctor character gets involved in the action-packed narrative.

Dharman is especially important as Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are collaborating. Kamal Haasan is not in the lead role alongside Rajinikanth but he is producer on the project which makes it a special part of Tamil cinema. In fact the two legends have already spoken about their friendship and their desire to work on one project in the past and Dharman is a very special reunion behind the scenes.

The technical team includes Anirudh Ravichander composing the music and the film is being staged in the commercial action thriller style. With Ashwath Marimuthu at the helm, it is also an interesting match of a younger filmmaker and one of Indian cinema’s biggest superstars.

Raashii Khanna has previously spoken about her collaboration with Rajinikanth on Dharman and how an exchange from the superstar left an impact on her. The reaction from her has only added to the anticipation of the cast working with Rajinikanth.

With the second schedule now in progress, Dharman is moving forward in production. Rajinikanth's mass appeal, Kamal Haasan's production backing, Ashwath Marimuthu's direction and Anirudh's music have set up the film as one of the most eagerly awaited Tamil movies of the future.

Now we will have to wait for Rajinikanth's doctor character to be revealed by the makers, as well as on the film's plot, first-look material and even release date. For now, the return to the sets is a major step forward for this project's imminent release date at this point.
