Sardar 2 Twitter Review: Karthi’s Action Thriller Leaves Fans Divided
Karthi's much anticipated spy-action thriller Sardar 2 is finally in theatres and the moviegoers have already started sharing their opinions on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Directed by P. S. Mithran, the film is the sequel to the 2022 hit Sardar and also brings back Karthi in a double role.
The movie also stars S. J. Suryah, Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath and Rajisha Vijayan.
From the early feedback we can tell that Sardar 2 is mixed so far and viewers are not happy with how it is executed and the length of the movie.
Some moviegoers have praised Karthi’s performance, action sequences and interval block but others feel the sequel loses momentum during the second half.
Karthi’s screen presence is one of the main positives said by many audiences. Many early reactions have been favourable in regards to his work in the dual role, especially as the senior Sardar character.

The interval sequence may be another highlight for viewers. Some social media reactions point to the first half as being engaging and the film quickly moving to the main conflict.
The spy elements, action and Karthi’s two characters have brought some excitement to the franchise.
The reaction is more divided when we talk about the second half. Some people say the latter part is predictable and long others say the writing and execution are poor. Some saw the film as having some good ideas but not always delivering them.
Another point that is frequently mentioned in early reactions is the length. Some consider the long part of the movie to detract from the movie’s overall effect.
Some have also criticised what they feel is over-the-top or unconvincing execution even though the movie has production scale and action sequences.
However, not all reactions have been negative. Some viewers have called Sardar 2 “Above Average” or “Decent Watch” and praised Karthi, action and the interval block.
That the film could appeal to big scale Tamil action thrillers even though its writing might not work for everyone.
I think the early X reactions of the film should be treated as first-hand audience opinions rather than a final verdict.
The word of mouth on Tamil Nadu, Telugu-speaking and overseas markets will become clearer as more shows take place.
For now, the Twitter rating on Sardar 2 seems mixed but watchable and Karthi’s performance and action are the biggest pluses while the second half, writing and runtime are the main talking points.
