Allari Naresh is going back to his comedy roots with the fantasy comedy Ramba Oorvasi Menaka (ROM) film trailer, which has just been released. It is a colourful, funny, entertaining, surreal, and hilarious fantasy comedy, of course. The movie is set up and will be released on September 4.
The trailer was launched by actor Nagarjuna, with the film in the pre-films before its theatrical release. ROM will be produced by Razesh Danda and Nimmakayala Prasad under the banner of Annapurna Studios and Hasya Movies and will be a light-hearted comedy and fantasy film targeted towards comedy and fantasy audiences on the big screen.
The primary theme of the film is immediately set in place. The story centres on three apsaras that arrive on Earth, or Bhulokam, but find themselves without their supernatural powers. Their unexpected arrival leads to a series of hilarious stories, and Allari Naresh’s Suri is in the middle of it all.
The trailer begins with the unusual circumstances that bring the celestial characters down to Earth. Suri’s prayers seem to be answered when the three apsaras descend from the heavens. But what initially seems to be a blessing soon becomes a complicated responsibility for him.
Much of the trailer's appeal is comedy. Director Chandra Mohan Chintada seems to have made the narrative simple, accessible, and entertaining. There’s lots of humour in the situations Suri and the three apsaras encounter, and the fantasy setting adds layers of fantasy to things and the fantasy setting adds to the comedy in the background.
Allari Naresh is still the biggest attraction. The actor has shown his skill in comedy in many movies, and ROM has set him back in his element, where his timing, expression, and spontaneous performance will be his biggest attraction. And his character plays at the very center of the confusion, which his character is set to do well and provides him the opportunity to get the laughs.
The trailer also features some fun OG references, so I imagine that will be one of the viewers’ main talking points. Allari Naresh’s comic delivery and the overall setup indicate that the makers are interested in clean entertainment instead of complex fantasy drama.
Surabhi plays the female lead, while Vennela Kishore adds another layer of humour as Indra. His presence will enhance the comic elements of the movie. Rashi Singh, Vishnupriya and Prisha Singh play the three apsaras whose arrival on Earth is the foundation of the story.
The technical aspects also lend a high level of technical appeal to the trailer. Raam Reddy has designed a bright and colourful visual palette for the fantasy world that complements the story. Brahma Kadali’s production design gives the celestial elements and the earthly locations a distinctive look that gives the film a fun feeling.
Chaitan Bharadwaj, music composer, helps to give the video a strong, upbeat sound like the fast-paced comedy and fantasy parts of the trailer. The colourful visuals, lively music, and comic performances make ROM more upbeat.
With its weird story setup, comedy-driven comedy and ensemble cast, Ramba Oorvasi Menaka is already a fun theatrical release. The film will rely heavily on Allari Naresh's comic timing, and the chemistry between his character and the three apsaras will surely be the most interesting.
When the date of releasing the film on September 4 comes to mind, the trailer is already generating some expectation among Telugu comedy and fantasy entertainers. Will the film be able to make its promising trailer a laugh riot?
