The Devil Wears Prada 2 OTT release date: When and where to watch Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway Film Online
Fashion, drama and nostalgia will return to streaming with The Devil Wears Prada 2 (Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt) launching on May 1, 2026 online. The anticipated sequel to the 2006 classic is currently available.
The film will be available on Disney+ and Hulu on July 29, 2026. And while the two streaming platforms didn’t announce the digital release on their own social media pages, at least they have let fans know that they can see Runway magazine from the comfort of their homes.
For Indian viewers, The Devil Wears Prada 2 will be available on JioHotstar. It will be available in its original English version as well as in a Hindi language version to get the sequel to a wider audience.
The film takes place 20 years after the first movie. Anne Hathaway is back as Andy Sachs, who has moved on from her time with Runway magazine. But her new job takes a surprising turn when she loses her newsroom job. Her former boss Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) is at odds with her magazine after a controversial feature is published.
With Runway struggling to survive in the digital world, the magazine’s owner appoints Andy as features editor. The decision is made without Miranda’s approval, and Miranda as the former boss and her one-time assistant must be working together again.
Andy is busy rebuilding her career through so many high-profile stories but Miranda has her own crisis. Her promotion is thrown into disarray when Elias-Clarke owner Irv Ravitz dies. The company’s new leadership begins to think about selling Runway.
The story also looks at the increasing use of artificial intelligence in the media industry. Andy learns, at the very first stage in the takeover process, that a takeover could see almost all people at Runway become AI workers. As the magazine and its employees are threatened, she wants a better buyer.
The story moves forward on Milan Fashion Week, when Andy convinces Sasha Barnes to take Elias-Clarke over. This move keeps Runway alive and Miranda gets the promotion she’s long awaited. Andy's influence becomes visible and Miranda has the right opportunity to tell her story and the two come together as Runway enters a new era.
Streep, Hathaway and Blunt are also among the cast, with Stanley Tucci, Justin Theroux, Kenneth Branagh, Lucy Liu, BJ Novak, Simone Ashley and Tracie Thoms. Lady Gaga and other fashion actors like Donatella Versace, Marc Jacobs, Ciara, Calum Harper and Ashley Graham also appear in the film.
Directed by David Frankel, *The Devil Wears Prada 2* is written by Aline Brosh McKenna with Wendy Finerman producing. Theodore Shapiro wrote the music, Florian Ballhaus is the cinematographer and Andrew Marcus is the editor.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is one of the most eagerly awaited OTT releases of the summer with all of the returning cast and a story that puts fashion media into the age of digital disruption and artificial intelligence.
