Kannada actress and former Bigg Boss Kannada contestant Krishi Tapanda has spoken publicly for the first time since her close friend Vaishakh’s death in the past year, showing her grief, online harassment and the financial pressures she still faces.
A few months later, Krishi had not spoken to the public since her tragic accident, but in her YouTube video she addressed the criticism and trolling she has been subjected to on social media. Krishi said she was grieving too.
Background of the Case
The controversy began after Krishi Tapanda filed complaints against businessman A.V.R. (Aravind Venkatesh Reddy). During the investigation Krishi’s friend Vaishakh was arrested for threatening the businessman.
Vaishakh was later released on bail. But within days of his release he was found dead after allegedly dying by suicide at Krishi Tapanda’s house. The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident and the case is still under legal scrutiny.
“I Don’t Know What Is Happening in My Life”
In her emotional message, Krishi expressed the emotional turmoil she has been experiencing.
She says nothing can get to her life as it's so crazy and so unpredictable and even though she can be so confused about what’s happening. Even so, she said, if one thing goes wrong in life she has to work hard, she has to work hard and survive.
She also asked people not to ask how she is doing, saying she herself doesn’t know how to answer that question anymore.
Reaction to Online Trolling
Krishi’s message also focused on the harsh comments she has received on social media.
The actress said that she normally doesn’t respond to negative comments and blocks or ignores abusive users. Comparing such comments to spoiled vegetables in a basket, she explained that removing negativity is necessary to keep peace of mind.
But she said the criticism intensified when she resumed posting promotional posts related to her professional commitments.
Some on social media asked why she had returned to work so soon after experiencing a personal tragedy.
“Who Will Pay My Rent?”
In response to those comments, Krishi observed that life does not stop after a tragedy.
She said though she is grieving, she still has responsibilities to pay rent, EMIs and other financial needs.
She questioned whether those critics who are making critical comments online would pay her bills if she stopped working.
Krishi also said she has moved out of the home where the tragedy occurred because she is unable to stay there. She said she still has to pay its rent despite leaving the house.
Speaking About Society’s Expectations
Krishi expressed disappointment over what she described as society’s double standards.
She said people judge those who try to move forward after personal loss and they also criticize those who struggle emotionally.
She said people are under relentless scrutiny for their grief, regardless of how they cope with it.
The actress said that though many people look at the incident as a news story, it is for her an irreplaceable personal loss that she still carries every day.
Choosing to Continue
Krishi said despite the emotional pain she has decided to keep working because it is her profession and her duty.
She conceded that in recent weeks she has been accused, criticized, humiliated, and characterized as bad, but she has no intention to quit.
That is why the actress says she feels no one who trolls her online will come forward to take care of her or to help her rebuild her life.
Investigation Continues
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of Vaishakh’s death. No conclusions have been reached as to whether responsibility has been established and the legal process is ongoing.
Krishi Tapanda’s emotional statement has brought grief, mental well-being, social media behavior, and the pressures faced by public figures dealing with personal tragedies into the public eye.
