Panchanama OTT Release Date: Bharath Srinivasan Leads Zee5’s New Investigative Thriller Premiering September 11
Zee5, one of the world's top streaming platforms, has an eye on the next investigative thriller in the making: Panchanama. A six-part series to be broadcast exclusively on Telugu Zee5 on September 11, 2026, will become a huge addition to the Telugu OTT scene.
And produced by Mohan Srivatsa, it is as dark as the book “Panchanama” and very intriguing, as a determined police officer who gets caught up in a complex conspiracy as he is slowly drawn into a web of secrets that slowly grows into a much larger conspiracy.
Jai Ram is very much the central character of Panchanama - Jai Ram is a complex character played well by Bharath Srinivasan. Jai is not just a police officer but he also faces a painful past and has faced many personal trials and has had his character and motivation come to life. Jai seems to be ignorant to the cause of the tragic death of a boy he was close enough to know and he just thinks that it was an accident, but Jai believes that there's much more to the story. The basic facts about the incident cause Jai to look deeper.
Jai is driven by an instinct and the desperate need to know what is happening, but he begins his own investigation. What starts out as his own search for clarity takes on a whole new meaning as a mystery and mystery in which little is actually clear to him. As he delves into the details surrounding the boy’s death, he finds out some things that make him question everything he thought he knew.
Jai is thrust into a dark world, in which inexplicable deaths, hidden information and powerful people are everywhere. These people appear to have significant motives for keeping some truths buried, and as Jai goes about piecing together the case, the case becomes increasingly complicated. The more he discovers, the further he can go and how much risk he will take in search of the truth.
The investigation itself is at the center of "Panchanama" and is very much a story of how it plays out. Jai is initially interested only in the fate of one child, but as he goes deeper he learns that there is far more to the picture than what he initially thought.

The six-part structure of “Panchanama” keeps me on the edge of my seat from the very start and every episode I watch adds to the mystery of it. It is an innovative series that does not follow the policing procedural format and as we move forward we are also able to see Jai’s emotional and personal life as he attempts to find out the truth in the midst of it.
Bharath Srinivasan is Jai Ram’s most capable actor and the emotional conflict he faces is the heart of the story. Also in the ensemble are Shivaji Raja as Maruthi, Medha Reddy as Dharani, Charan Babu as Adhi, Rupa Lakshmi as Pushpavalli, Radhika Priti as Devaki, Surya as Hari, and Srija as Divya. Each of these characters is a great part of the story and is all part of the larger themes of trust, betrayal and truth.
The combination of a mysterious death, a gripping police investigation that is still very much a mystery, and the possibility of a larger conspiracy, in addition to the dark secrets of the past and future all makes the series hypnotizing to me. Such an investigation of the truth is the question that the series raises deeply to what lengths one is willing to go to when official explanations are not forthcoming, and what is the moral problem when the truth is hidden.
Jai Ram’s investigation is not only a case to be solved; it has become a very personal mission that drives the story forward. This journey, so full of challenges and revelations, is the core of the series and all we will understand will keep us tuned into this story and pondering it long after each episode is over.
As much as it sounds like a mystery, so that the series is a deep investigation into dark, not-so-filtered secrets, Panchanama is a game-changer for Telugu OTT.
