Bollywood actor Sohail Khan has opened up about his relationship with his former wife Seema Sajdeh after the two came together as wildcard contestants on the reality show *Alliance*.
The reunion of the former couple has become one of the show’s most talked-about moments, with Sohail saying that their time together inside the reality competition has brought them closer than they had been in several years.
Sohail reflected in a candid conversation with fellow contestant Zaid Darbar about the unexpected impact of entering the show alongside Seema.
“Honestly speaking, I had never come this close to Seema in all those years the way this house has brought us closer,” Sohail said.
He said although the two have remained connected through their family, they generally had lived separate lives outside the show.
Sohail and Seema have two sons, Nirvaan and Yohan. The children live with Sohail and visit their mother regularly.
But Sohail said that living together in the *Alliance* house changed communication.
Sohail and the former couple are talking more openly and more civil now, he said.
"I care about her, she cares about me, and that's really nice, really lovely,” he said.
Sohail also expressed gratitude to the show for creating a situation which might otherwise have never happened.
He said if both of them had been told that they were going to spend an extended period together in advance, they would have hesitated.
Instead, having participated in the reality competition has allowed them to reconnect in a totally new setting.
Sohail also made it clear that Seema’s well-being was still important to him.
In his testimony, he said, “I’m trying to protect her like a loved one” and it’s the kind of difficult but caring relationship the former couple still have.
Sohail Recalls How He Met Seema
Sohail also revisited the story of how he and Seema met in the same episode.
The actor remembered meeting her at a wedding in Delhi. The two had to drop contact eventually due to their families’ opposition.
But later on, they reunited when Seema said she felt trapped in her engagement.
She stayed with her cousins Chikki and Chunky Panday and the situation eventually led to discussions between both families.
Sohail recalled that Seema’s father asked whether he was willing to marry her according to Hindu customs.
Hence, the couple got married within a week after discussions between both families.
Their marriage lasted 24 years before they separated in 2022.
Sohail and Seema continue to co-parent their two sons despite their separation.
As a result, their most recent reunion on *Alliance* has allowed viewers to see the relationship they have now after their marriage.
What Is Alliance?
*Alliance* is a reality competition that is about celebrities doing everyday tasks in order to avoid elimination that Kunal Kemmu hosts.
The show is also rotating and two contestants are replaced every week by new wildcard entrants.
Finally, the winner will get ₹50 lakh.
Every day at noon on Prime Video, the show will be available on Prime Video.
But for Sohail and Seema, the competition seems to have been more than just winning a reality show.
Their time together has reopened communication, created new memories and brought them back together in the way they’d become distant over the years.
Whether their closeness will remain once they leave the *Alliance* house remains to be seen.
But Sohail’s honest confession has given viewers a personal, visceral look at what it is like to move beyond the end of a marriage and continue to be there for each other and be connected through family.
